The EuroSMR registry (registered at German Clinical Trials Register, DRKS00017428) is an international, multicenter, retrospective European registry to assess safety and efficacy of mitral valve edge-to-edge repair in patients with secondary mitral regurgitation. In the meantime, the registry has been able to identify important aspects in the context of M-TEER treatment in 11 high-impact published papers. The newly developed EuroSMR risk score offers the possibility of risk stratification of M-TEER patients, which is superior to previous risk calculators.
